Napping in this house......
is almost impossible to do with two big dogs.
Actually, two, big COMPETITIVE dogs.
For example, my husband tried to take a nap, and Rocco layed next to him.
Enter Molly, who then positions herself between them.
It looks like an idyllic scene, but they will continue to jockey positions for the duration of the nap. Each dog trying to get the closest to the human napper.
My husband can sleep thru this competition.
I cannot.
Which is why I choose to nap on the couch.
Less room for dogs, more room for me.
It's true.
We live our lives trying to outsmart our dogs.
Especially at nap time.

The year in review
I hope this year is the year! The year, you ask?
Yes. The year.
The year that Rocco stops his destructive puppy habits, and grows into a kindler, gentler dog.
Let's recap last years' events, shall we?
Rocco chewed up a dresser...
Rocco destroyed the woodwork in my kitchen...
He ate laundry (mostly socks) out of the hamper...
He ate rugs. Boy, did he eat rugs......
He chewed shoes...
He chewed up the wall....
He chewed up a fork. Took it right out of the sink...
He ate rolls of toilet paper every chance that he had ...
He chewed up pillows....
He chewed up our futon mattress....
And although not destructive, it sure is annoying.
He stands in the way when we try to watch TV...
But I saved the best for last.
Remember when he chewed up the feather top mattress cover? The next day we had to use a leaf vacuum to pick up all the feathers....
What a year! And Rocco lived through it. Actually, WE lived through it!
Here's hoping for a BETTER 2008.

I have been trying to take these pictures for the past few weeks. Unfortunately for you, this is the best of the bunch. Or should I say "bunches".
Rocco and Molly just don't like anything on their heads. Especially Happy New Year headbands.
